Lesson 7   Wheelchair Basketball

    with my friends.

2.  We watched a game.

3.  The players used special wheelchairs on the court.

4.  Everybody shot the ball really well.

5.  They were amazing.

6.  Then we tried wheelchair basketball.

10.  I had a problem with my homework, but I worked it out.

11.  Sorry.  I was at the sports center.

12.  I was playing wheelchair basketball.

15.  Basketball was my life.

16.  I had a clubfoot, but I still played.

17.  At age thirteen, my foot’s condition changed.

18.  I could not play basketball anymore.

19.  I was very sad.

20.  At the same time, I played wheelchair basketball, too.

21.  I did not like it very much.

22.  It was not really basketball to me.

1.  At sixteen, our wheelchair basketball team played

   against Australian and US teams.

2.  Their players were fast, skillful, and full of energy.

3.  They always did their best.

4.  Above all, they really loved wheelchair basketball.

5.  This changed my mind.

6.  I realized, “Wheelchair basketball is a real sport.”

7.  After long hours of practice, I joined the Japan national team.

8.  Now I meet and play against the top players in the world.

9.  This is my message for you.

10.  Have a positive attitude.  Then you can enjoy your life.
